French Chocolate Bark

This should get the blog traffic going again.  The cookie today is something called “French Chocolate Bark.”  We will go with FCB for short.  From the photo included with the email, it looks like quite a concoction.  Now, the chocolate part certainly gets the attention of a Maher.  But, then theres (there goes the apostrophe key again, sorry to those with perfect grammar…this entry is going to have some flaws) these other things that I would not normally request to be combined with chocolate.

Crystallized Ginger

Dried Cherries

Dried Apricots

Golden Raisins

Anyhow, you mix up the chocolate (melted Bittersweet and semisweet chocolate) and layer the various other stuff on top.  There is actually a specific order in which you are to layer the ingredients…ginger, cashews, cherries, apricots, raisins.   (Then it actually says “store in a cool, dry place for several weeks”…yes, thats what it says.)  Well, it actually tastes mighty good.

By the way, Happy Birthday Mom.  We love you.  And we will save you some FCB.
