You know, I never really wanted a dog to begin with, way back there 13 years ago.  But there I sat on Tuesday morning, turning into a puddle, as Cookie slowly went to sleep.

Cookie was the dog that made our kids learn not to fear.  Cookie was always running to the door as we came inside.  Cookie scratched a hole in the wall next to the basement door (her signal that she needed to go out)….we patched it…and she scratched another hole.

Cookie was getting old.  Falling a lot.  She had quit coming upstairs to wait as we showered…to wait until she could climb in and lick the warm water off of the shower floor.  She had quit scratching at the basement door.  Cookie was going on 16 years old.  She had a good run.
