Sunday update

No cookie action yet today.  CCC and Number One Daughter made a trip to the tree farm and are on the way home with the Christmas tree.  I did a bit of shopping for gifts at MOA, which was busy but not ridiculous busy.

7:05pm update

Pandora has an excellent Christmas Mix on their Christmas Radio channel.  I highly recommend it.  It has been a very productive Sunday.  The first gifts have been purchased and wrapped…and the tree arrived just in time for the gifts to be placed underneath.  I got home with the gifts in time to get them wrapped before the girls came home with the tree.  Watched the second half of Colts/Cowboys while wrapping (with a short nap mixed in).  Fun game to watch.  Peyton Manning magic is gone.  The picks were piling up and did him in.

The girls did an excellent job on the tree selection.  And they came home with some Sugar Cookies they baked at a friend’s house.  The recipe was out of an antique Betty Crocker Junior Cookbook from the 1957.  But the cookies still taste like they were baked today!  Amazing…

Tree Came Home along with Sugar Cookies and a gift for the CCC

7:45pm Update – New developments on the “Boys and Girls Cookbook” from 1957.  Yes it was a simpler time, to be sure.  But while “googling” to find the image of the cover of the book, many mysterious postings popped up (bad choice of words as you’ll see) regarding the so-called “candle salad.”   It has nothing to do with cookies but then this blog needs to go off on tangents now and again.   Enjoy (or not)…
