Hump Day Double

She is the Chief Cookie Chef for a reason.  She’s relentless.  Tonight, TWO different cookies.

Last night, she mixed up the dough for the Roll-out Sugar Cookies so that they could refrigerate over night.  But they got TOO cold and now needed to sit out and soften up before being rolled and cut with the holiday-themed cookie cutters.  So, while waiting for the dough to get soft, she also mixed mixed up some Chocolate Peppermint Pinwheels.  The CPP’s are a special request from our Niece Out East, the college gal at James Madison U.

Speaking of college, the Number One Son was in a pretty good mood tonight after wrapping up another fall semester class with a presentation today.  Now he’s down to just one more final and then the semester is wrapped up Friday.

(Note to Christmas music aficionados…”Little Drummer Boy” as performed by Jars of Clay, is “very interesting music” to quote Marty McFly’s mother in the first installment of the “Back to the Future” films.  Speaking of the “Back to the Future” films…I don’t know about you, but, despite having seen each one of them about 77 times already, when they are on USA Network or TNT or AMC, I still will sit and watch them.  Ridonkulous, huh?)

Smashed-up bits of candy cane in the CPP dough

Layer of Chocolate for the CPPs

Pinwheel...get it?

Number One Daughter gives these a high rating while appearing to do her "Hunchback of Notre Dame" impression

These will get frosted tomorrow...I know, you can't wait
